Today we went to Schoepfle Garden with friends. Schoepfle is definately the best park in Lorain County (or any other county). Not only is it the most beautiful, but there is so much to do, that the kids can be entertained all day. There are several picnic tables at the entrance, so we started by having lunch. There is a house near the picnic tables where there are restrooms, and a few snacks and drinks. There is a paved path that runs through the park, with pretty flowers. There is a pond, too. As you make your way around the path, there is a carousel, which runs from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is also free. There is a playspace with a plastic crawling area and a couple of slides. There is a huge mound of rocks that the kids can climb and a large tunnel slide that runs through it. There are big drums to make music on, and a small stream that they can walk in (though they will get soaked). There is also a Japanese Garden with a water feature and a musical area, which has windchimes and a large flute that the kids can crawl through. It is located at 11106 Market St. in Birmingham, Oh. If you are only going to drive far to get to one park, this is the one!
Lots of pretty flowers
A pond to look for frogs in
A large mound of rocks the kids can climb. There is a
small waterfall down the side leading to a little stream.
There is a tube slide that runs through the rocks.
The carousel. It runs during warmer months
on Wed. and Sat. from 1-4. Adults need to
ride with kids under 42 inches.
A small stream that the kids like to play in.
Kaylee and Lindsey Rating: 6/5....the girls love this park and all it has to offer. They could be entertained for hours here. It is relaxing for adults, pretty and serene.
