Impromptu Fun

Wow...two posts in one day.  So, I posted earlier we would take it easy today and just go to the library and pool, but our trip to the library ended up giving us some ideas of things to do today.  When the girls took their charts to the library, they received a coloring sheet with stickers and a coupon.  The could choose from a free kids meal at Applebee's, a free pretzel from Auntie Anne's, a free milkshake at Eat N Park or something free at Taco Bell.  My kids seem to like Applebee's, so Kaylee chose that one and Lindsey chose Auntie Anne's.
                                                    The Brunswick Library--the kids participate
in the summer reading program.  They also have
free activities on Mondays.  The girls got to see
live owls a few weeks ago.

So, since Kaylee got the free Applebee's card, we decided to head there for lunch.  I think I might have to put up a list of good places to take kids to eat.  My kids have been on a recent Applebee's kick, and since we could get a free kids meal, I figured it would be a good idea to go.  Now, I don't know if they all do this, but the one in Strongsville has a basket filled with coloring books and books that they can take to the table to play with while waiting for food.  The kids loved it!

After lunch, we headed to the mall.  We started off by going to Build-a-Bear.  I had a $10 gift card that I got at Easter time for $5, and also a coupon for $10 off.  The thing about Build-a-Bear is that you have to lay down the ground rules well ahead of stepping foot in the store, or you will end up spending $90 for two very well-dressed bears, like I did last summer.  The employees are more than happy to suggest to your eager children that a matching handbag to coordinate with the bear's outfit and shoes is a must-have.  After you are stuck buying all of the clothes that will be yanked off the animal in the car on the way home from the store, the employees will leave you with parting good advice...buy a bear and then when you come back, bring the bear you made and just buy an outfit.
Rainbow and Sweetie...the newest family members.

After Build-a-Bear, we headed to Auntie Anne's to redeem Lindsey's coupon.  The kids chose a cinnamon and sugar pretzel, and were quite happy with it, though it was a bit messy.
Lindsey and her new friend enjoying a
                                                   pretzel from Auntie Anne's.

And, to top it all off, I let the girls jump at Bungee Bounce.  The cost is $7 for about 5 minutes.  The weight range is 30-200 pounds.  Lindsey is about 35 pounds, but she had a much harder time jumping high like Kaylee, who has about 10 pounds on her.
Kaylee...she looked like she was going to jump
                                                   through the roof.
Lindsey--eventually she got up high.  The
girl running it today was not that friendly.
Last time, the guy pulled down on the bungee
several times so she could get up high enough.

Kaylee and Lindsey Rating: 5/5....they enjoyed everything from the library trip to the jumping.
