Movies

Movies are something that you can go to at any point in the year, however, in the summer, there are more options, and opportunities for free or discounted admission.

Regal Cinemas, Medina: A couple of years ago, this theater offered free movies for kids, one day per week.  Currently, they show movies at 10:00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  They now cost $1, but it is an inexpensive option if you are looking for something to do to stay out of the heat.  It is located at 200 West Reagan Pkwy in Medina.

Hickory Ridge Cinemas, Brunswick: This theater is located at 1055 Pearl Rd. in Brunswick.  You can get information online at www.hickoryridgecinema.net.  On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, you get free popcorn with each paid admission.

Dive-In Movie: This year, the movie is on August 10.  It is free and is at the Hinckley Reservation.  While I would love to take the kids, the timing will not work out with my schedule this year.  From what I have read, you are able to rent tubes and float on the water while watching the movie.  If you choose to instead sit on the land, you can as well.  The movie is free.  The website is www.clemetparks.com.

Friday Night Flicks: The Columbia Reservation, in the Lorain County Metroparks offers free movies on Friday nights.  You bring your own chairs (and lots of bug spray) and set up a spot on the miniature golf course.  They start at 8:45.  You can find out which movie is playing by calling 440-236-3663.  The address is 25145 Royalton Rd. in Columbia Station.  There is a snack bar that services food, including pizza and ice cream.  The movie is free.  We went last year and it was fun!

Crocker Park/Legacy Village: On Thursdays at 9:00,  Crocker Park shows outdoor movies in their pavillion.  You can find out which movies are showing by visiting their website at www.crockerpark.com.  It is located at 25 Main St., in Weslake.  You can visit the Legacy Village website at www.legacy-village.com to see what movies are playing there.  It is located at 25001 Cedar Rd. in Lyndhurst, Ohio.  Check the website for movie days and times.

Drive-In: The Autorama in North Ridgeville offers a double feature each night during warmer months.  Admission is $9 for adults, $3 for kids ages 4-12 and free if they are under 4.  See previous blog for information.
