The Mother of All Playdates...A Day in Mansfield

Today was the rescheduled playdate from a few weeks ago.  We spent the day in Mansfield.  First, we went to Kingwood Center, which is located at 900 Park Ave. in Mansfield.  There is a duck pond and there are two peacocks.  There are machines that dispense some food for 25 cents so that you can feed the ducks or peacocks.  There are flowers everywhere, a spice garden, a water garden and fountains.  The girls really enjoyed it.  There is a cost, but it is only $5 for a carload of people, and it was well worth it!

                                                    The greenhouse
One of the peacocks...a favorite for the girls
                                         Scenery
                                          More flowers
                                                    The water lillies

Kaylee and Lindsey Rating: 5/5-the girls had fun and enjoyed feeding the ducks and seeing the peacocks.  It is a great deal for $5!

Following Kingwood Center, we went out to lunch at the Blueberry Patch.  It is located at 1285 W. Hanley Rd. in Mansfield.  You can pick blueberries and rapsberries there, there is a gift shop and there is a small cafe there.  There is a children's menu that has PB & J and macaroni and cheese.  For adults, they have several selections, but the chicken salad with blueberries in it was excellent.  The kids also got a mikshake for dessert.  It is very small, so you should make reservations.

Kaylee and Lindsey Rating: 5/5...the kids didn't really eat any food here, but I give it 5/5 because the food was great!

                                                    Grocery Shopping at Little Buckeyes
                                                    The pediatrician
                                                     Water Tables

After lunch, we headed over to Little Buckeyes Children's Museum, which is located at 44 W. 4th St. in Mansfield, and the web address is www.littlebuckeyes.org.  This museum is great and not very expensive...only $6 per person.  It is realtively new and this year, they opened the water tables, a hair salon, the mulch (sand) area, and a climbing area with a slide.  In addition, there is a grocery store, science lab, vet's office, children's hospital, bank, gardening area and cars the kids can drive.  The next phase will have a tea room and school house.  Look on the site for days and hours they are open!

Kaylee and Lindsey Rating: 6/5--they love this and there is always something new here!

After all of this, we took the girls to the Richland Carousel Park, which is located on 4th St and is within walking distance from Little Buckeyes.  Rides are $1 or 6 for $5.
                                                     Fun on the Carousel

Kaylee and Lindsey Rating: 5/5--it is a fun way to end a great playdate!
