Summer Bucket List

There are so many things to do with the kids in the summer, and many of them are inexpensive, or free!  I like to keep my kids busy with activities.  Like every other parent of young children, it makes sense that the more active the kids are during the day, the better they sleep at night.  For that reason, we try and do something just about every day.
Today's activity was a trip to Preston's Hope, a playground in Beachwood, Ohio.  The playground is free, but they do ask that you make a donation.  The playground was built to provide fun and entertainment for all children, those with and without disabilities.
The playground is located at 26001 South Woodland Rd. in Beachwood.  It is in a large complex, called the Mandel JCC of Cleveland.  The playground is huge!  There is a large sand pit that has sand toys, and there is also a sand table.  In addition, there are swings, slides and a variety of monkey bars.  There are also several houses, each with a theme, that the kids enjoyed playing in.  The website is www.prestonshope.com.  It is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. during fair weather months.
Though it was a bit of a drive, it was well worth it.  There is a pavillion as well as an area with some tables for lunch.  It is a great place for a picnic and an afternoon of fun!  There are restrooms on site and a machine with bottled water.
Kaylee and Lindsey Rating: 5/5--the kids had a great time.  They spent most of the time in the sand, but also had a great time exploring the houses.

  1. I LOVE the blog! I want to go everywhere you've posted! Any chance you might post on places / events you've already been to in the past? We tried the Little Buckeye Museum you recommended and it was a hit.

Beautiful job with the photos and site.

  2. Thanks, Sara. Yes, I plan to post places we have already gone in the past with some pictures. We tend to do a lot of the same things each summer, so, for those things, I will post them as I do them.
